From downtown Venice the drive north on Tamiami Trail is about 5 miles and typically 8 to 12 minutes, with a few extra minutes when the Trail is busy. That figure is the published Nokomis-to-downtown-Venice range. If you are starting on the island, at Venice Beach, or east of the city, add the time to reach US-41.

Stay on US-41 north. You leave Venice, cross into Nokomis, and the shop is on the north Trail at street number 604. Do not turn toward the beaches. There is no Venice storefront. Jacaranda Boulevard and the I-75 Venice interchange are east of downtown. If you are coming off the interstate, come west to US-41 and turn north toward Nokomis rather than south toward Englewood or North Port. Englewood is the other direction on the coast, typically 22 to 28 minutes from Nokomis, so a Venice start is the shorter trip. North Port is inland and south, about 25 minutes from the shop, which means a North Port driver passes the Venice area on the way.

A common question from Venice is whether the island body shops can do the same work because they are closer to the sand. Distance is not the certification.
